You might have read of Yuka Takaoka, who stabbed a man she had lived with for a few days.
According to a report by TV Asahi, it is understood that Takaoka had said the following:
“I liked him so much, I couldn’t help it.”
She added that she would have “killed herself after she had killed him”.
The Tokyo Reporter, a Japanese English-language news site, had noted that the man was in critical condition.
It reported that the man had two wounds to his abdomen.
An image of Takaoka smoking a cigarette next to the seemingly lifeless body of the man also contributed to rumours that he was dead.
According to Sora News, it later turned out he was unconscious for five days.
Despite the supposed fatal stabbing, the man has somehow made a full recovery.
Not only that, he's back working as a host in the Kabuchiko red-light district.
Here is his post announcing his return to being a host.

That is quite extraordinary considering the circumstances in which he was stabbed.
According to an interview he gave to Livedoor News, he had been asleep in the house that the two had started living in together when he felt some discomfort in his stomach.
He woke up to witness a knife sticking out of his stomach.
And like any near-death experience would dictate, he has changed his stage name to Phoenix Luna, in reference to the mythical creature's ability to come back from the dead.
