Formerly known as Grit, MASH at Pek Kio is an American-style cafe started by young chef Kieran Chin and his mother.
The duo wanted to celebrate their passion for food, and now specialise in serving traditional Asian dishes for lunch and all-day Western fare.
Daily lunch specials (S$8 - S$15)
The cafe offers a different daily lunch special each weekday, including dishes like Stewed Pork Belly with Rice (S$8), Homemade Grandma Laksa (S$10), and Oxtail Stew with Mash or Buttered Rice (S$15):
One of the cafe's most popular dishes has to be their Cheeseburger (S$10), which has received rave reviews from customers since their starting days as Grit:
Other burgers such as the Pulled Pork Burger (S$10) and Pulled Mushroom Burger (S$11) are available as well.
Pasta
If you're a pasta fan, look out for the cafe's Carbonara (S$11) which comes with Iberian pork jowl, bacon and pecorino, as well as their Crab & Prawn Linguine (S$14):
