If sashimi is your life force, Taiko Chaya in Tokyo is the place to go.
50 minutes of sashimi
The 35-year-old restaurant serves free-flow maguro tuna, fatty salmon, octopus, and katsuo (bonito) for the price of 1,300 yen (S$16.30) during lunch.
Plates reportedly get refilled every 15 minutes.
Diners have 50 minutes to eat their fill during the period, which lasts from 11:30am to 2pm.
On Sundays, buffet hours are extended, starting from 10:30am and ending at 3:30pm (last entry at 2:30pm).
Seafood and side dishes
If you're not into raw food, the buffet also has a variety of seafood and cooked food as well.
Look forward to oysters, scallops, salad, grilled dishes, miso soup, seafood noodles, and even fruits to end off your meal.

Rice is provided, so you can create your own chirashi don.
If you'd like to visit, it's ideal to get there on time, or you won't be able to enter for quite a while. You will also have to take a queue number upon arrival.
From 5pm, however, the restaurant turns into an izakaya (Japanese bar).
