A 39 year-old Singaporean man, Cher, was arrested, along with a Vietnamese man, on charges of attempting to smuggle drugs into Vietnam from Cambodia.

Specifically, Cher was involved in smuggling crystal meth.

He was caught along with a 36-year old Vietnamese man by Vietnamese authorities.

According to media reports from Vietnam, the men were caught when police searched the Honda they were in.

There, the police apparently found 10kg of crystal meth in their possession.

They also found US$3,000 (S$4,058) in the man's bag.

According to the Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine are punishable by death.

Wanbao reported that the investigations are still ongoing, and if convicted, Cher could face the death sentence.
