This year's National Day song is called Our Singapore.
It is a mash-up of 2002's We Will Get There and 2015's Our Singapore.
The song features a lot of familiar faces including Stefanie Sun, Jacintha Abisheganaden and Rahimah Rahim.
Soulful version of national anthem
What some people may not know is that Ramli Sarip (who also sang Our Singapore), will be singing a rendition of the National Anthem at the National Day Parade.
Fondly known as "Papa Rock", the 67-year-old will be belting out a soulful and heartfelt version of Majulah Singapura in the sixth act of the parade.
Singaporeans resonate
And it looks like Singaporeans who have watched the preview show are blown away by it, with over 300 reactions and more than 700 shares on the video.
The feels.
Happened by accident
Turns out, the "modern version" of the national anthem has been in the works since January this year.
The concept of the "revamped" national anthem was so unexpected, he didn't think that the idea was going to be accepted.
In an Instagram post, Ramli shared:
"An attempt to modernise the national anthem for this year's National Day Parade. It happened by accident on January 27, 2019 at 12.55pm in the home of Dr Sydney Tan, the musical director for almost all national day parades.
I didn't expect for the higher ups to accept this new idea with open arms and I hope you'll accept it too.'
Can't wait.
