This Pikachu lamp can not only light up your life, but respond to your words as well.

Soft and squishy lamp

Created by Takara Tomy, a Japanese company that makes toys and merchandise, the lamp has a cute name: The Pikachu Puni Light.

The "puni" in the name refers to the Japanese word for 'punipuni', a term used to describe a "soft and squishy" feeling -- apt as the lamp is made of silicone and it's rather soft, according to Sora News.

The intensity of the light from the Pikachu lamp can also be adjusted to three different levels to suit your various moods.

The lamp can serve as a nightlight too -- a timer can be set to enable the light to turn off automatically after a set period of time.

This lamp talks back

Not only is the Pikachu Puni light functional, it can respond to your affection as well.

According to Sora News, when the lamp is set to Communication mode, Pikachu can react to your words or your affectionate pats with his trademark "Pika pika!"

And it appears that the Pokemon can dance along to music as well.

Putting the lamp in dance mode can gets Pikachu to bust some moves.

The lamp is currently retailing at ¥7521.29 (S$94.90) here.
