Singaporeans are looking forward to A&W's second outlet in AMK hub, after the fast food brand's 16-year-hiatus from the local market.
But older folks might remember that the original A&W outlet was also in Ang Mo Kio more than a decade ago (albeit in a slightly different area).
A&W first entered the Singapore market in 1966, but left in 2003.
They were known for their coney dogs and root beer floats.
Here are some throwback photos posted by A&W Singapore on Facebook:
A Chinese language tuition centre has taken over the location.
Upon seeing the photos, Singaporeans had plenty of memories to share.
Some used to work there part-time:
Others had their love stories begin there:
As well as memories of their schooling days:
Just great memories, in general:
The new outlet will be opening at Basement 1 in Ang Mo Kio Hub, and a third outlet is expected to open by 2020.
