Elderly man caught red-handed kicking community cat in Marsiling, police report made

The cat was eating under the sheltered walkway.

Update, Aug. 5, 2019: An elderly man is under investigation for animal cruelty.


An elderly man, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, has been caught red-handed on video kicking a community cat in Marsiling.

A Facebook post consisting of several photos of the incident were put up on July 14, 2019.

According to the post, the incident happened on July 13 at Marsiling Lane around the vicinity of blocks 10 to 16.

A one-minute video of the incident showed the elderly man kicking a cat to his right as he walked under a sheltered walkway, as this gif shows:

The cat appeared to have been feeding out of a white container at that time.

After the cat was kicked, it immediately ran away from the sheltered walkway.

The elderly man's face was subsequently captured on video as the camera person tailed him:

The elderly man appeared conscious of being videoed but did not stop or retaliate.

Police report made

According to the post, this was not the first time the elderly man had allegedly struck a community cat in the Marsiling area.

A community cat feeder has made a police report after alleging that this is the same man who has been throwing stones at community cats, and injuring them in the process.

The post also urged members of the public to keep a lookout for the man, so as to assist the authorities in locating him.
