Recently, he posted a sobering update regarding his wife, Gabriella Belcher: "Four weeks ago, my sweet wife and best friend Gabbie fell critically ill. Since then, there have been many dark and desperate hours while ICU medical staff have worked hard to treat her."

Lloyd went on to express his hope that his wife of 24 years would pull through.

She is currently warded in a hospital in Singapore, although Lloyd did not elaborate which one specifically.

On July 5, 2019, Lloyd uploaded a video giving an update on what appears to be a desperate situation.

In it, he pleas for more O+ blood donors, not only for his wife, but for anyone who needs it.

Here is his video:

In case you can't see it.

"A plea to Singaporeans. Please go & give blood. My wife & others desperately need it.

My wife, Gabriella Belcher, is O+ but we are not allowed to give directly to her or any other recipient. Singapore policy is that all blood donations must go the central bank & then allocated according to need. My wife is critically ill in ICU with dangerously low blood levels. This tells you how bad the shortage is. Please go & give blood and not just once but donate REGULARLY.

Please note that in Singapore you cannot nominate the recipient for your blood donation at the time of giving blood. Your donation goes to the central blood bank then allocated according to need. So the more people give then the better the chances for my wife and others like her."

Always low

The nature of O+ blood stock, being universal donors and all, mean that it is always in low supply.

Here is the latest donation drive appeal on May, 2019.
