Former Mediacorp actress Jin Yinji was reportedly taken to hospital on July 8, 2019, after she had fainted in the toilet, according to Lianhe Wanbao.

Experienced stomach pain after taking laxatives

According to Wanbao, Jin, 73, was on set filming that morning and had to eat chicken rice.

In a bid to purge the greasy food, she decided to take laxatives when she returned home.

However, she ended up experiencing intense stomach pains, and broke out in cold sweat.

She eventually fainted in the bathroom, and called for her helper to "save her" when she came to.

Jin also told the Chinese daily that when her grandson saw her breaking out in cold sweat, he supposedly asked her: "Nai Nai (Grandma), what will happen if you cannot do filming anymore?"

Had previously taken laxatives to lose weight

Subsequently, Jin tried to move her bowels, but sought medical attention immediately upon discovering that she had passed blood instead.

She was reportedly warded for observation for two nights, and was diagnosed with colon inflammation.

Jin told Wanbao that she had previously taken laxatives to lose weight when she was younger.

However, since that incident, she said that she no longer dares to try and lose weight.
