HyunA’s response

In an Instagram post on July 6, 2019, HyunA wrote a post on Instagram addressing the public scrutiny of her lips.

The image she posted showed that she topped the search engine of Naver, a popular web portal in Korea, and “HyunA’s lips” was the sixth most searched keywords on the chart.

Along with the image, HyunA clarified that she overdid her lip outline as a change to her usual style and she dismissed hateful remarks posted by netizens.

Here’s a translation of the caption provided by one of the commenters:

“Not doing eye makeup, overdoing my lip outline is all my doing, light or heavy makeup, I like it when every time it’s different. Every day I get opportunities to transform myself for my schedules and I like this. But I don’t like hateful comments written as if they’re the most obvious things.”
