Honda crashes into drain after accident with van in Yishun

A car ended up in a drain in Yishun after a collision with a van on July 20 evening.

The accident occurred around 10pm at Block 173, Yishun Avenue 7, according to Facebook page, SG Road Vigilante - SGRV.

A van appeared to have collided into the rear of a red Honda Vezel hybrid car.

The car then got stuck inside a nearby drain with a dented rear.

The green railing along the drain was broken off as a result of the accident.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance at 9:50pm and two people were sent to Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital.

Both male driver, 55, and a female passenger, 51, were conscious when they were sent to the hospital.

The police were also alerted to the accident at 9.53pm.

Road tax expired

It was also revealed that the red car allegedly had not renewed its road tax after its expiry date on July 4, 2019.

According to the record on One Motoring website, the car is also under the private-hire scheme.

Vehicles are not allowed on the road one day after the expiry of its road tax.

Any driver who does not renew the road tax for more than six months can be prosecuted in court.
