A bunch of gal pals in China decided to build a house in the suburbs and live together until they retire.

Decided to live together in a big house

According to a Yitiao YouTube video, seven girlfriends joked about living together after they retire at 60.

That was in 2008.

Fast forward over a decade later, they've bought a house in a village about 70km away from Guangzhou, and are living together.

"Girls shouldn't wait until 30 years later," one of them said.

Here's a look at their house.

The house, which is three and a half storeys, set them back 4 million yuan (S$787,278).

It has a tea room.

A spacious living and dining area to accommodate them as well as their families.

There are bedrooms for each of them.

They also constructed a tea pavilion right in the middle of the field for them to have tea together.

The pavilion is linked to the house by a bamboo walkway.

They hope to continue living with each other for the next 10 years at least.
