S'pore company lets you gently borrow other people's dogs for S$10/hour

Barking good time.

A rent-a-date platform was recently launched in May, allowing Singaporeans to find a companion for an hour or two, depending on what you can afford:

But something possibly better has just been launched: Furpal, a website which lets you "find a doggy friend".

Link up with dog owners

If you don't have a dog but would like to spend some time with one, the platform links you up with various dog owners and gives you access to their canines.

All you have to do is:

  1. Browse dog profiles
  2. Set a time with its owner
  3. Go to the owner's place for your date with the dog

You can sort the profiles based on location, so you'll get to visit a dog near your neighbourhood.

Rates, as far as we can tell, are S$10 per hour for each visitor.

Doggy profiles

To make the meeting less awkward, each dog's profile includes a short introduction of themselves and their owners.

Here's an example:

Find a companion for your dog

If you're a dog owner, however, you can also sign your dog up for some socialisation.

Select the "sign up as an owner" option to create a profile for your dog.

As for the amount earned from visitations, here's the process:

  • Dog borrowers will first transfer the money to Furpal
  • Furpal transfers you the total amount earned at the end of every month
  • Furpal takes a 30 per cent commission for every transaction
