About 20 people clashed at Duxton Hill, 9 arrested for rioting

Nine people have been arrested.

A riot involving about 20 people broke out at Duxton Hill on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

According to The New Paper the brawl happened at a car park outside a bar at 5.48pm.

A 47-second video of the incident has been uploaded to YouTube:

Brawl on the street

A group of men and women could be seen shouting and shoving each other on the road.

The video then cuts to an altercation in the car park.

Several of the men can be seen running towards and after one another, squaring off and knocking a green rubbish bin over in the process.

A woman can be heard screaming in the video.

The video then cuts a second time to show multiple police cars with flashing lights arriving at the scene.

Nine people arrested

Nine people have since been arrested in connection to the brawl.

A police spokesperson said the men were aged between 20 and 35.

As per the spokesperson's statement:

"On 14 July 2019 at 5.48pm, the Police were alerted to a case of rioting along 5 Duxton Hill. Nine men, aged between 20 and 35, were arrested in relation to the case. Police investigations are ongoing.”
