So was intimidated and attacked by a group of 20 men after saying: "There are so many people in white clothes here."
The men who assaulted him reportedly kept saying during the assault, "Create mess in Hong Kong? Wear black shirt?", reported HK01.
So claimed that he explained to the group that he had just finished work, but the men ignored him and continued to chase after him.
He fell to the ground at some point, while some people splashed an unknown liquid onto him.
"They beat people up indiscriminately... It was really terrifying, because they hit very hard.", he added.
The 23-year-old then fled to a 7-Eleven convenience store as he waited for paramedics.
He also lost his phone and glasses in this incident.
"It is haunting, it gives you lingering fear"
Speaking to HK01, So hoped that the police will fully investigate the incident to prevent similar events from happening in the future.
"There should be at least a public explanation, it is unacceptable to see those people randomly attacking others", said the cook, as reported by SCMP.
"I will not walk past the same area from now on as I go to work and get off work. The experience of being beaten up is haunting, it gives you lingering fear," he added.
Hong Kong police have started conducting raids on gangsters involved.
