Stewart (the corgi that plays Cheddar in Brooklyn Nine-Nine) has passed away.

Stewart's owner posted the sad news on Instagram.

Here is what the post said.

"We went to the beach (his favorite place) where he frolicked in the surf and then enjoyed a picnic lunch of In & Out burgers. We relaxed in the sun and just enjoyed each other’s company.

Our veterinarian met us there later and Stewart went to sleep peacefully in my arms while listening to the sounds of the ocean.

He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah."

Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will recognise Captain Raymond Holt's beloved corgi, Cheddar.

It's appeared in episodes such as Season 3 Episode 18 when the Nine-Nine tried to find a missing Cheddar they were supposed to be taking care of.

It's become very much a fan-favourite.
