Update to what happened: Mothership understands that the fracas apparently started when a foul was called.

Despite the foul, the team took matters into their own hand, leading to a scuffle.

During the scuffle, two players clashed heads, resulting in the man's bloodied face.

A man was arrested over the incident. *End of update*

Weekend football matches when you're an adult usually end in either cancellation due to insufficient players or just a casual kick around.

This match did not follow that script.

In an incident that allegedly happened on Sunday, Feb. 17, a video shows a man on the ground in a state of shock, with his face completely bloody.

In the video, you can hear a man saying someone had head-butted the wounded player.

With many speculating that it was the work of someone stamping on the face with studs.

The incident apparently happened in a game held at East Spring Secondary School.

But just so we're clear, it doesn't appear to be in any way related to the school, with the higher probability being adults who booked the field for recreational use over the weekend.

You can book the field here.

Here is the video of the incident, but be warned that it is rather gruesome and is likely to be distressing for some.

A 34-year-old man was taken to Changi General Hospital.

The referee for the game, Mustafa Kamal, a member of the Football Referees Association of Singapore (FRAS) told Channel News Asia (CNA) that the incident occured five minutes before the end of the match.

Someone from the black team executed a flying kick, leading to the initial scuffle.

It was in this scuffle, that the man was headbutted right between his eyes and the forehead.
