Ben Goi, son of Popiah King Sam Goi, died in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 3, 2019.
He was 43.
He suffered from a stroke followed by a brain haemorrhage, and his body was repatriated back to Singapore on Sunday night, Feb. 4.
According to The Straits Times, a wake was held in Goi's home at Bukit Timah.
His wake was attended by ministers such as Heng Swee Keat, Vivian Balakrishnan, Masagos Zulkifli, and Josephine Teo. As well as former minister, George Yeo.
Celebrities such as Chew Chor Meng were also present at the wake.
News of his sudden demise in KL was also reported by The Star in Malaysia.
Marriage and a child
Goi had married former actress Tracy Lee in 2017.
The wedding was held in Shangri-La Hotel and attended by Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, former President Tony Tan and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
The couple had their first child in 2018.
Here is Lee's Instagram post announcing the birth of their child.
In the post, Lee wrote she will love her son, and her husband, equally. She also said her only wish for her son was to see him grow up healthy and happy.
Lee had posted a picture with Goi as recently as January 22.
In it, she playfully complained that her husband always looked younger in photos.
She added that she forgot why she was laughing so much in the photo, but she wished everyday would be this good.
Business
Goi was also chief operating officer at Tee Yih Jia, a global food manufacturing company that his father acquired in 1977, when it was just a small pastry factory.

According to ST, Goi was also managing director of Montigo Resorts, and held various other positions as well.
Goi will be cremated at Mandai crematorium on Thursday morning.
