Thousands of Singaporeans, including celebrities and politicians, paid their last respects to fallen soldier Aloysius Pang on Saturday (Jan. 26).
Pang, 28, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in a military training accident in New Zealand during a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) training exercise called Exercise Thunder Warrior.
Zoe Tay: He's a boy with good opinions and is willing to learn
Queen of Caldecott Hill Zoe Tay was among the celebrities at the wake.
Other celebrities seen at the wake included Fann Wong, Christopher Lee, Guo Liang, Chen Hanwei, Shane Pow, and Pang's girlfriend Jayley Woo.https://www.facebook.com/8worldnews/photos/a.152129658138692/2392409960777306/?type=3&theaterTay told Channel 8 news,
"I’ve actually only worked with him on one show and we didn’t even have many opportunities to have a long conversation.
One of those times when we had a long conversation was when he offered to drive me home.
I’m very close to his boss Dasmond (Koh). For every filming, Dasmond would always say hi, greet me and ask me whether I can look after his junior (Aloysius)."
Perhaps thinking about Pang, Tay subsequently started to break down.
Tay continued between tears,
"My impression of Aloysius is really good. From my conversation with him, I know he is a boy with good opinions and is willing to learn.
I'm sorry (directed at the reporter, presumably for crying).
That's why I feel that this is really very regrettable (sigh).
He is a good actor with so much potential talent.
When this (incident) happened, sigh, I think he tried his best (to survive). Because I think he is a very determined boy.
May he rest in peace."
