The best things sometimes happen when we least expect them to.

Thai lady won top lottery prize...twice

According to Shin Min Daily News, a 53-year-old Thai lady, Suwana, from Ang Thong province won the top lottery prize consecutively for 2017 and 2018.

Suwana was a winner of the top prize for the final lottery draw of 2018.

She won 12,000,000 baht (about S$500,000) for the 2018 draw.

Unexpected

Her win was unexpected as she did not buy the tickets with the intent to try her luck.

Suwana allegedly saw the lottery ticket seller had seven lottery tickets left so she decided to help the seller out by buying all of them.

Little did she know that she would snag the top prize from one of those tickets.

Suwana, who frequently donates to temples, said that she would continue contributing to various temples after the year-end Dana, a Buddhist practice of giving.

Not the first time

Suwana also won the lottery back in 2017, a win that netted her an even cooler 30,000,000 baht (about S$1,260,000).

She donated 2,000,000 baht (S$80,000) to build a temple, and has kept donating throughout the years.
