If you're a 90s kid, you'll know that the greatest secret agent of all isn't James Bond, or Catwoman, or Solid Snake.

It's the lady in red, Carmen Sandiego.

The gentlewoman catburglar made her debut in the 1985 video game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

Since then, she's thrilled kids with her adventures around the world.

Over time, the franchise has spawned video games, TV shows, comics, books, and even films.

Merlion appears

Carmen has since found a new home in streaming service Netflix, which released a new animated series on Jan. 18.

Singaporean viewers might find something familiar in the moody intro:

Yup, that's our Merlion.

Carmen is pursued by sinister, dark-suited baddies, but she manages to lose them by disappearing behind the statue.

Other famous world landmarks are also featured, including the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto, Japan:

And Big Ben in London, England:

The first season has nine episodes, and features Gina Rodriguez, the star of Jane the Virgin, as the voice of Carmen Sandiego.

Maybe she'll swing by Singapore on her grand adventures around the globe.
