Anti-vice raid

Malaysian news outlet The Star reported on Jan. 5 that Ahmad Saiful had been detained by the authorities following a combined operation.

It involved the Dang Wangi Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, and its Secret Society, Gaming and Vice Division.

The raid was supposedly carried out in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

Another Malaysian news outlet, Malay Mail, reported that the detainee had tested positive for drug use.

It cited another news outlet, Berita Harian Malaysia, reported that a 31-year-old man had done a urine test and tested positive for marijuana use.

Berita Harian added that it contacted Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob, who apparently confirmed the arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(A) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
