Crashed into the back of a stationery bus, grazed against another bus
Here's how the accident happened:
- Prior to the moment of impact, the bus from which the accident is filmed, via a back camera, comes to a stop on the leftmost lane of the road. According to ST, the bus had stopped to pick up and drop off passengers.
- Subsequently, a lorry carrying workers comes down the lane behind the stationery bus.
- At the last moment, the lorry can be seen moving towards the next lane on the right but ends up crashing into the back of the bus.
- ST added that the lorry had also grazed the side of another bus travelling on the next lane.
Many workers injured, none of the buses' passengers hurt
Another Facebook post by user Jimmy Tan showed the aftermath of the accident in photos:
ST reported that while none of the passengers in both buses were hurt, the workers made up most of the 24 people injured.
Also injured was the driver of the bus that the lorry had crashed into.
ST further added that a worker seated in the front passenger seat of the lorry had to be extracted with hydraulic rescue tools.
