Wha, damn accomplished.

Jonathan Kim's parents came to America from South Korea in the 70's.

Born in America in 1984, he would go on to have an almost ludicrously decorated career.

Navy Seal

Kim, or Jonny, started off as a seaman recruit.

He then went to sign up for two years of gruelling Seal training before finally becoming a full-fledged Navy Seal.

His reward for that was to be sent to Iraq as part of Seal Team 3.

Kim served as a combat medic, sniper, and a navigator during his tour of duty.

He served in over 100 combat missions, and even earned a silver star.

Doctor

After his navy career ended, he pursued another daunting goal.

Becoming a doctor.

He chose this profession because while on duty, he witnessed two of his friends get shot in the face.

Despite his best efforts, there were just some things that a personnel with no medical experience could do to help them.

Unfortunately, both of them died.

Kim attended the University of San Diego, where he graduated summa cum laude, and went off to Harvard Medical School.

He graduated from Harvard in 2016.

Astronaut

Now, that might be more than enough for some people, heck, that might even be more than enough for some movies.

But Kim decided to apply to become an astronaut.

That's right, an astronaut.

It is an extraordinary profession with laughably small odds of getting in.

There were more than 18,000 candidates, and only 12 spots.

So naturally, Kim got in.

Here he is.

With the other candidates.

And as of January 2020, he is officially an astronaut.

Unbelievable.
