It is the worst nightmare of every Singaporean who drives to Johor Bahru - having your car looted.

This was a reality for Facebook user Has Razy and his fiancée on January 24.

He wrote:

It was meant to to be a good year to celebrate as all of us welcome 2019, but not exactly for me and my fiancée, yesterday on the 24/1/19 we drove to Johor bahru to run some errands. So we parked the car near Taman pelangi, Jalan kuning to change Singapore dollars to ringgit currency . Five minutes later we returned back , we realised that the car’s been robbed, left rear window been smashed, passports , wallets , bag and some other personal belongings were stolen as well. To whoever who drives to Johor bahru frequently , please be extra careful. It’s too troublesome to go through all these hassles to get the documents done to return back to Singapore .

According to him, the couple parked their car near Taman Pelangi and went off to change money.

When they returned five minutes later, they found their left rear window smashed. Their passports, wallets, bag and some personal belongings were gone.

According to Hus Razy, it was very troublesome to get the necessary documents in order to return back to Singapore.

Their car window had to be covered with black trash bags and tape.

Many netizens commented that it was extremely unwise to leave belongings unattended in a car in JB.

Others added that leaving valuables in a car will attract thieves:
