Singaporeans bade their farewell to actor Aloysius Pang over the weekend.
On Monday, Jan. 28, Pang's family conveyed via a Facebook post that "he is liberated now".
Re-release of movie starring Pang
Pang started acting when he was only nine years old.
After taking a break from acting when he was, Pang eventually made a comeback in 2012, at 22, under former Mediacorp artiste Dasmond Koh's mentorship and management.
Remembered for his acting
Given Pang's love for acting, his family and friends hopes that people can focus on Pang's past work and remember him by watching his shows.
In memory of Pang, a 2016 movie starring Pang called Young & Fabulous will be re-released again on Jan. 29.
The movie will be screening in six cinemas and all proceeds, after third-party costs, will go to Pang's family.
According to producer and director, Joyce Lee, Pang's family agreed to re-release this film and she hopes that she can help Pang to fulfil his wish in doing so.
Lee wrote:
"Aloysius is a dear friend, and the news of his passing was hard for me. We worked very well together for Young & Fabulous, and I treat him like my younger brother. I wanted to do something for him, and with his family’s blessings, we’ve decided to re-release Young & Fabulous on the big screens for Singaporeans who wished to pay tribute to his great work. All proceeds after third party costs (if any) for the screenings will go to Pang’s family. Aloysius’s wish was to excel in his acting profession and get more recognition for his work. I hope I can do my part to help him fulfil his wish."
Pang's manager, Dasmond Koh, also shared that this film was a key milestone in Pang's career.
"This initiative is in line with our plans for Aloysius, I hope we can all focus on his past work. His participation in Young & Fabulous was a key milestone in his career, and I hope more people can get to enjoy this movie."
