Kudos.

Tensions tend to run high on public transport.

This is just the latest example of that phenomenon.

Taufiq Istafan uploaded a video on Facebook showing a kerfuffle between two men.

The video shows a man in a cap confronting another, who is seated, over some choice words he had said prior to the video starting.

According to the post, the incident occurred on Bus 190.

A young man, dressed in a yellow shirt, had apparently accidentally knocked into the man who was seated, and even though he apologised profusely, the man who was seated saw it fit to start insulting him.

Specifically using the term "shit Malay".

That's when the cap-wearing man came in to confront him.

The seated man did not seem to dispute the derogatory term he had used, but argued over whether he meant to degrade an entire race, or just the youth himself, who we'll get to later.

The rebuttal to this technicality is that insulting someone whilst highlighting their race is racist, regardless of the scope of your insult.

Youth enters

Just as the video is taking a turn for the worse, with both men appearing to make plans to "go outside settle", the man in yellow breaks up the brewing conflict.

Not only that, he even sits beside the seated man to talk to him after the entire thing blows over, presumably to calm him down.

Great.

And this comment really sums it up.
