You've seen videos of people devouring a scarily realistic puppy ice-cream.
Now, a new challenger has arrived, in the form of a melancholic seal cake.
Here it is.
As one can see, the seal is adorably rotund, and his deadpan eyes give little clue as to what he might be truly feeling.

Is he afraid? Is he numb?
No one knows.
Viral on Japanese Twitter
While it was introduced in September this year, the Japanese side of Twitter went crazy about this when this one Twitter user, hakuhime_, tweeted about it:
台湾で売ってるアザラシのアイスケーキものすごくそそるので日本でも売って欲しい pic.twitter.com/fk714re1mt
— はくひめ (@hakuhime_) December 25, 2018
It has since gone viral, with 46,000 retweets on Twitter.
If it isn't already ridiculously cute (or depressing) as it is, wait till you see it get sliced apart by a knife.

In case you can't see it, here's the agonising footage in GIF format.
His eyes convey all there needs to be.
Here is the poor critter being dissected further:
Where to buy and eat
According to Hong Kong lifestyle site U Food, the cake is made of orange and lemon mousse with lemon-flavoured filling.
Currently, the cake can only be found in a Taiwanese cafe is called Sowing the Sweets, or 耕者有其甜。(Geng Zhe You Qi Tian).
Located at Taichung, the cafe produces desserts in the shape of cute animals, such as rabbits and dogs, and has recently made cutesy Christmas-themed desserts in time for the holiday.
If you're stopping by the shop to get the adorable seal cake, do note that they only produce a limited number each day, so it's best to get in touch with them via Facebook or call them to make reservations.
