Hotpot is a staple in Asian culture.

Singapore has quite a few amazing hotpot places as well.

So with that in mind, this tweet by Jona Weinhofen, a guitarist from Australia, was never going to end well.

The response was immediate.

Here are some choice angry words on his tweet.

Some called it racism.

In a variety of languages.

Others pointed out the fundamental flaw with calling hotpot the product of meat lovers.

Some celebrities even got into the fray.

Including Jung from Kim's Convenience.
