One of the stereotypes applied to Singaporeans who travel to Johor Baru is their obsession with getting as much petrol into the car as possible.

Which leads to this type of scenario.

A Malaysian Facebook page 新柔关卡路况情报站, which roughly translates to Singapore-Johor Custom Information Post, has another of those instances.

Tilt

One of their more recent posts involved two images of a man apparently pumping petrol from a Johor petrol station.

Here are the two images in question.

The post appears to show the man jacking up his car to get enough tilt for as much petrol as possible.

Ridiculed

The man's actions caused much derision among the largely Malaysian community.

First, the narrative was quickly laid out.

And was quickly escalated.

Which roughly translates as such: Only Singaporeans have this kind of dumb idea.

They also introduced some local Malaysian vernacular.

Translation: How come can sohai until this level

Translation: Only sohai Singaporeans can do such things.

"Sohai" roughly translates to being f*cking crazy.

One saw the safety hazard issue as being far more pressing than the issue of culture.

Translation: Pump petrol till it's so full that when the vehicle is in use, the petrol will leak out. Pumping the petrol like this is suicidal, heat will cause expansion which results in an explosion.

With one making a valid point.

Before perhaps the most important question of all.

Translation: Can someone seriously tell me, how useful is it to pump petrol like this? Don't tell me can pump a little more petrol lor! One petrol tank has a fixed size, how much litre it can fill is fixed! Please don't tell me 45 litter petrol tank can fit 50 litter of petrol! *laugh cry emoji* x3

True.
