It is illegal to set off fireworks in Singapore.
Fireworks have been banned in Singapore since 1972.
According to the Dangerous Fireworks Act, no person shall have in his possession or discharge any dangerous fireworks.
If convicted of the offence of discharge of dangerous fireworks, one can jailed for up to two years and/ or fined between S$2,000 and S$10,000
Fireworks at Little India
With that being said, someone or a some group launched more than a minute's worth of fireworks at what appears to be Race Course Road in Little India.

How it went
It started off with your usual sparklers.
Which drew a crowd.
And other responders.
It ended off with a bang, and applause.
Believe it or not, this exact thing happened last year.
And again this year.

Update
According to The Straits Times, two men, aged 29 and 32 have been arrested over suspected involvement in this fireworks incident.
