Gigantic and fancy Christmas trees are common sights to welcome the Yuletide season.
A gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of a busy shopping street, however, is not so common.
Largest decorative ferris wheel
For the first time in nine years, ION Orchard will not have a massive Christmas tree.
They will have a ferris wheel instead:
Weighing up to 12 tonnes and scaling up to 14 metres in height, the Cartier Ferris Wheel is the largest decorative ferris wheel in motion in Southeast Asia.
The Cartier Ferris Wheel is decorated with 2,688 bright light bulbs, following the mall's theme of "Where Christmas Truly Sparkles".
Complimentary photo booth
While you can't ride it because it is only for decoration purposes, you can, however, be ushered by the iconic Cartier bell boys towards a photo booth located at the base of the ferris wheel.
Complimentary photo print-outs will also be given out after taking a photo at the photo booth.
Christmas-themed maze
The mall's outdoor space will also be decorated with a maze full of Christmas trees and benches, in case you get tired of doing your Christmas shopping.
And to add to the festive cheer, 800 wrapped gift boxes will also be placed all over the outdoor space.
The Cartier Ferris Wheel will be free to the public from Nov. 8 to Dec. 31, 2018, from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays and 11am to 10pm on weekends.
