Singaporeans have always waxed lyrical about how value for money and flavourful Thai food is, especially when consumed in Bangkok.
So, it is a refreshing change to see a Thai person savouring Singapore food and waxing lyrical about it right here in Singapore.
Ate her way through Chinatown
Monthon “Mint” Kasantikul, also known as "I Roam Alone", a Thai travel vlogger, recently published a video on Oct. 31 of her eating escapade in Singapore.
More specifically, the 30-year-old one-woman globetrotter spent her day eating her way through Chinatown.
On-camera antics
Her 12-minute-40-second video is replete with scenes of her bubbly personality spilling over with her winsome smile, head tilts and glazed over eyes barely containing her wholesomeness, as she does her monologue to the camera.
The whole video is in Thai and without subtitles, although she speaks a smidgen of Mandarin and Thaiglish.
But it is not as if not understanding what she is saying is going to stop Singaporeans from watching her gorge herself in slow motion replay.
Because whatever she said that you can't parse, she conveys with her non-stop chewing and animated cooing.
What she ate
These are some of the food she ate during her day in Chinatown:
• Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre
• Song Fa Bak Kut Teh at Chinatown Point
• Tian Tian & Ah Tai chicken rice at Maxwell Food Centre
• Egg tart at Tong Heng
• Chilli crab at Chinatown Food Street at Smith Street
