An individual in Yishun has been suspected of feeding a cat with tainted milk and causing its death.

An appeal for information from the public has been put out by the community cat feeders in Yishun, as the hunt for the possible killer is underway.

The alert was put up on the Facebook group, Cat Lovers Singapore, by a member whose aunt saw a community cat being fed with milk at the void deck of Block 356 along Yishun Ring Road on Nov. 6.

Foul play has been suspected, as the cat was found dead next to the milk bowl after consuming its contents.

The milk is suspected to have been poisoned.

Cat moved into cushioned box

A passerby subsequently moved the cat's carcass into a cushioned box for a more dignified resting place, according to an update on the Yishun 326 Tabby Cat Facebook page.

A comment by the Yishun 326 Tabby Cat Facebook page said the dead cat's body was picked up by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) on the same day.
