Actress and TV show host Vivian Lai is no longer a brand ambassador for packaged drink company Pokka.
This ends her six-year celebrity endorsement for the company.
This announcement came less than a month after her husband was suspended from his duties as CEO of Pokka International.
This has also ended a month of speculation on whether the actress will be keeping her endorsement deal with the company.
In 2012, Shin Min Daily News reported that Lai's endorsement was worth S$1 million.
However, Mediacorp clarified that rumours of Lai's million-dollar endorsement was speculation.
Recently, Lianhe Wanbao reported that Pokka changed its Facebook cover image from one featuring Vivian Lai to one showing only a male model.
This led to speculation that something might have happened to Lai's endorsement deal.
According to Channel 8 News, Pokka informed the news station that Lai's three-year endorsement deal with the company was up and will not be renewed.
Pokka further said that this change was part of Pokka's sustainable marketing strategy. The acting CEO of Pokka International, Rieko Shofu, also expressed gratitude for Lai's long-time contribution to the company
When contacted, Lai, who is currently filming a food variety show, only said that she is grateful for the opportunity to front Pokka all these years, and wishes the company every success.
