Singtel restores mobile data network at 1.22am after more than 3 hours of downtime

Singtel's mobile network went down and affected many users across Singapore on Thursday night, Oct. 18, just past 10pm.

In the latest update put up on Singtel's Facebook page on Friday, Oct. 19, at 2am, the telco said all affected services have been restored as of 1.22am.

Affected areas included one-north, Choa Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Bedok, Serangoon, Sengkang, Potong Pasir, Jurong, Bukit Merah, Woodlands, and Kembangan.

Cause of outage

Singtel said in its updates to the public that "issues with mobile voice and data services" on its 3G/ 4G network were detected at 10.11pm.

A "power-related issue" caused the disruption.

Singtel said it would monitor the network to ensure full restoration and apologised to its customers.

What were the issues

Singtel subscribers were not able to use the Internet on the go and some were stranded as they could not book for private hire vehicles or make calls out.

Those affected included prepaid card users.
