Contrary to the narrative that bad things always happen in Yishun, there's been some nice things that have come out from the neighbourhood:
Adding to the list of wholesome things in Yishun is an incident involving a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) ambulance crew and an elderly man.
SCDF ambulance crew helps old man
On Oct. 11, Facebook user Mohd Sharfu uploaded the following video on community Facebook page SG Roads Vigilante:
Parks ambulance along road
According to Sharfu, he noticed that an SCDF staff had stopped his ambulance along the road.
Why, you ask?
To help an elderly man cross the road.
The elderly man, who seemed to require the support of a walking stick and was pushing a trolley, was stuck in the middle of ongoing traffic at the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and 5.
That's when the SCDF staff approached the man to help him cross the road safely.
Aww.
Familiar face among Yishunites
This particular elderly man seems to be a familiar face among Yishunites:
SCDF crew praised
The SCDF staff's kind deed didn't go unnoticed, as he received praise from a number of netizens.
Not the first time
This isn't the first time Singaporeans have extended a helping hand to an elderly in need.
