A Taiwanese man known as Chen You Lin is accused of forging Singaporean singer JJ Lin's signature to cheat another Taiwanese businessman of S$2.5 million.
The victim Luo Xin Hua, owner of Shenzhen Entertainment, presented his case to Taiwanese media Apple Daily on Oct. 2.
Reduced rate to hold JJ Lin's concert in China
Chen, who ostensibly has a stake in Guangzhou Artis Company, had offered Luo a reduced rate to purchase concert rights for Lin's upcoming Sanctuary World Tour 2018 in China.
Chen claimed that he was able to get a special price of 3.6 million RMB (SS$718,092) per concert with JFJ Productions (a music studio founded by Lin), as opposed to the 4.5 million RMB (S$897, 615) that Luo would have to pay if he approached the JFJ directly.

Luo had agreed to Chen's offer to buy the rights to 10 concerts at the reduced rate of 36 million RMB (~S$7.1 million).
After both parties had come to an agreement on the licensing fees and contract terms, Luo transferred 12.64 million RMB (~S$2.5 million) to Chen last August.
These are documents Luo received containing forged signatures of Lin stating that Shenzhen Entertainment had the right to stage Lin's Santuary World Tour concerts:
Realised he had been scammed four months later
In December 2017, Luo read on Lin's official website that the confirmed tour had nothing to do with Guangzhou Artis Company or Shenzhen Entertainment. It was then he realised he had been scammed.
Scammer claims to have been scammed too
Luo subsequently sued Chen for fraud in April 2018, but the latter denied any wrong-doing on his part.
Instead, Chen is blaming another man named Huang Xin Long. Chen claims it was Huang who told him about acquiring the rights to Lin's concert. And Chen claimed Huang had cheated him.
After Chen discovered that Huang was suspicious, Chen had allegedly told Shenzhen Entertainment not to transfer any money, Apple Daily reports.
Furthermore, Chen claimed that he was cheated by Huang of 8.5 million TWD (~S$380,464) as well.
Chen claimed to have organised concerts for the likes of Jay Chou, S.H.E, and A-Mei.
Luo said that despite Chen's story, Chen has been unable to produce relevant documents pertaining to Huang, such as his personal particulars and any evidence of exchanges between the two of them.
All Chen supplied were screenshots of some accounts and transfers made.
According to Luo, there is also a possibility of Shenzhen Entertainment going bankrupt, and the company has since been forced to stop a project that they were previously filming.
Industry insiders should know trustworthy channels: Lin's agent
In response to queries by Apple Daily, Lin's agent Xu Pei Yun stated that JFJ productions only works with Taipei Music for the organising of concerts.
Xu said that industry insiders should be familiar with the trustworthy channels, she added.
"As this dispute has nothing to do with us, we will not be giving any comments. However, we hope that something as regrettable as this would not happen again," Xu said.
