Biggest-ever i Light S'pore to be held from Jan. 28 to Feb. 24, 2019

The seventh edition of i Light Singapore will be held from Jan. 28, 2019 to Feb. 24, 2019.

Titled "i Light Singapore - Bicentennial Edition", this year's festival commemorates the 200th year of Sir Stamford Raffles founding of modern Singapore.

Installations all over Marina Bay, Civic District & Fort Canning

This year's theme -- Bridges of Time -- invites visitors to reflect on Singapore's history and growth, as well as Singapore's connection with the world in the last 700 years.

Visitors can expect a larger festival that goes beyond Marina Bay, with sustainable light art installations in the Civic District, Singapore River as well as Raffles Terrace at Fort Canning.

Featured installations

The installation City Gazing Singapore by Dutch artists Mingus Vogel and Justus Bruns is one of the international headliners to feature in the upcoming festival.

The hanging installation portrays the map of Singapore and will be anchored at The Lawn@Marina Bay.

The installation's lights will be morph to show how the city has grown over time.

There is also The Rainbow Connection by Yun, a Singaporean industrial designer.

This art installation will feature solar light modules in upcycled cookie containers that will be co-created by members of the public, which will look like this:

800 of such containers will be put together and is expected to look like this:

Free admission

Admission for the 5-week long festival will be free.

The art installations will be available for viewing and photo-taking from 7.30pm to 11pm on Sundays to Thursdays and from 7.30pm to 12am on Fridays to Saturdays.
