Hardwarezone (HWZ) forum user Chunchunmaru started a thread called "Support the WP? Show it here (GPGT)".

Chunchunmaru invited other forum users to share screenshots of bank transfers made to the Workers' Party MPs to help them with legal costs incurred in the ongoing AHTC lawsuit.

Chunchunmaru then shared a screenshot of his $1,000 donation:

HWZ users show up

Chunchunmaru's sharing prompted other HWZ users to share screenshots of their donations:

Some even claimed to be donating their SG Bonus:

Chunchunmaru also shared the reason why he was donating:

In case you can't read what he wrote, we reproduced it here:

"If the WP dies out there's no credible opposition organization left.

No one who's left is any real threat...

Many of us call this country our home. We were born here. Ideally, we should also die here, happy and not having to worry about where our next meal is coming from.

I could easily migrate, but that would mean leaving behind friends, family, and people at the bottom of the food chain who don't have the option to leave - those would suffer the most if the situation is left unchecked.

The gap is too big as it is, and too little is being done to stop it from widening. Those who have the ability to do something must step up for the rest."

WP MPs crowdfunds legal fees

WP MPs Low Thia Khiang, Sylvia Lim and Pritam Singh are being sued for improper conduct and questionable payment of S$33.7million to its former managing agent and service providers.

Together with two other town councillors, they are facing two suits in alleged improper payments — one brought by Aljunied-Hougang Town Council as directed by an independent panel, and the other by Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council.

They started a crowdfunding drive on Wednesday evening (Oct. 24) to raise money for their legal fees.

They have spent $600,000 of their own savings so far.

In slightly more than 24 hours after the call for donations, they have raised close to $500,000.
