In certain parts of the world, Kopi Gu You (or butter coffee) is known as bulletproof coffee:

Basically one adds a slab of butter to their coffee to enhance the flavour and give themself an energy boost.

On October 10, North American media/news company Cultura Colectiva+ uploaded a video on the beverage, listing the advantages of drinking it:

The video has since gathered more than 11 million views and 23,000 comments.

Keto diet

An unintended consequence of the beverage being introduced to the Western world, however, is the fact that it has become part of something called the keto diet.

The keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet that purportedly has many other health benefits, such as combating diabetes and cancer, in addition to losing weight.

This woman, however, knows what's up with the drink:

Not everyone is keen on the idea, though:

And at least one other person got diarrhoea just thinking about it:

 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
