Earlier this year, it was announced that Capital 21 -- supposedly Johor Bahru's biggest mall -- will be opening soon:

Now, official word is that the mall's opening is slated for October 17, 2018, in Jalan Tampoi -- which is 20 minutes away from Woodlands checkpoint.

What sets it apart from other malls, however, is the fact that the complex houses an indoor theme park, as well as thematic floors inspired by famous cities around the world.

Here's a quick rundown of what to expect:

1) City-themed levels

The mall appears to be inspired by another similarly themed shopping complex in Bangkok named Terminal 21. 

For Capital 21,  cities from five continents will be showcased across five floors (America, Europe, Australia/Oceania, Asia, and Middle-East/Africa).

Each level aims to present at least six iconic cities to represent its respective continent.

2) Indoor theme park

Occupying the third and fourth levels of the mall will be MCM studio, an indoor theme park divided into three main sections -- Movie Planet, Cartoon Planet, and Music Planet.

Movie Planet features thrilling rides, Cartoon Planet consists of kiddy rides, while Music Planet will run musical, theatrical, and circus shows in air-conditioned comfort.

This is apparently also the largest indoor theme park in Southeast Asia.

3) First world museum in Malaysia

Located on the 11th floor, Capital 21's site claims that the World Museum is the first of its kind in Malaysia.

Expect to learn more about the "world history [of] development, innovation or growth", its website says.

4) Hotels

According to Channel NewsAsia, two hotels will also be built within the development -- Hilton Garden Inn and Planet Hotel (the latter being a theme park hotel). 

However, the hotels will only be opened in 2019, CNA reports.
