Here is the best Singaporean response to Nas Daily so far.

Parody

A Singaporean lady, @CarrineLow, who understands this country inside out like a true local should, has made a parody of a Nas Daily video about Singapore.

It essentially answers the question: "What would a Singaporean shoot if he or she has to do a Nas Daily video about Singapore, sans the foreignness?"

You'll get this:

All the local references

Taking the "imitation is flattery" creed to its logical conclusion, the video titled "The Almost Perfect People" swaps the smarm for snark and sheds light on all the things the real Nas Daily cannot even if he tried.

It then becomes a video only real, rabid Singaporeans can understand, with a lot of dog whistling and local references.

This particular ethos then holds when one watches the video: You either die a nobody or live long enough to turn into a meme.

There is so much material to mine she cannot even say it all in one minute, as the video clocks over four minutes -- warts and all.

It is a product of the Internet and only someone who exists inside the Internet can fully embrace.

Enjoy.

And also, please don't call the police over this video.
