The city of Hong Kong is bracing itself for Typhoon Mangkhut, which is said to be one of the strongest tropical storms in decades.
We're possibly seeing winds going at 240km/h, and if that happens that will exceed even the wind speed of last year's Super Typhoon Hato.
Residents are advised to take precautionary measures, such as a taping up glass windows.
Typhoon-proofed humour
Despite the fears of a historically strong typhoon, Hong Kongers are taking it in their stride.
Facebook user EK Wing collated hilarious examples of Hong Kongers dramatically getting ready for the Typhoon into a Facebook post.
People who took the taping up glass advice too literally:

Some wrapped their vehicles like Christmas gifts to protect their rides:

Some residents may have single-handedly caused a tape shortage in Hong Kong:

Apparently Spiderman is in Hong Kong as well:

Some deployed the power of magical seals to finish their prep work:

For some, it's still a work in progress:

Which basically translates to "not finished yet".
All these prep work got people hungry:

Which means beef.
Others started using any sort of adhesive they could find - including sanitary pads:

There was even one very special guest appearance

This advice to go back to work is straight from Hong Kong's richest man, Li Ka-Shing.
Got to give it to the spirit and positivity of the people of Hong Kong.
