A man was seen flying across Marina Bay on a hoverboard over the F1 weekend.
Here's a video in case you didn't:
What is that?
Who the onlookers spotted was Franky Zapata, the French man who invented his own jet-powered hoverboard, named the Flyboard Air.
Given that he was spotted in the day in the vicinity of Marina Bay Sands, it was likely a dressed rehearsal for his three-night performance for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
This is the first time he is showcasing his invention in Singapore.
In this clip, Zapata briefly explained what a Flyboard Air is:
Here are some snippets of him flying on Saturday night. Almost like Iron Man.

Things you want to ask about a Flyboard Air
Zapata, a previous French jet ski champion, took four years to develop the Flyboard Air.
He first invented and commercialised Flyboard, a hoverboard propelled by water pressure to the rider's boots, with jet nozzles providing an additional thrust for the rider to fly up to 15m.
Flyboard has since become a form of water sport globally.
You can do Flyboarding in Singapore:
In an interview with The Verge back in 2016, Zapata explained that a Flyboard Air is propelled by four engines inside, each with 250 horsepower.
It is extremely difficult to balance and almost impossible to ride the Flyboard Air without a minimum of 50 to 100 hours on the original Flyboard that is propelled by water.
A Flyboard Air can fly up to a speed of 140kmh and reach a height of 150m for a duration of six to 10 minutes.
