S'poreans react to massive blackout fairly well by cracking jokes online

As long as we have data.

In case you were sleeping like a log, certain parts of Singapore experienced a surreal 38-minute complete blackout on Sept. 18 at about 1.30am:

And even though a good number of negative comments flooded social media, a portion of Singaporeans managed to retain their sense of humour and spread it online:

This one particular genius couldn't read the Morse code, but could still tell it was the Morse code:

If you need ideas, here's how to have fun during a blackout:

Side note: For those who are worried, you might be relieved to hear that those on life support have backup power:

From power trip to nostalgia trip

And for some, the power trip became a nostalgia trip:

Others shared a fond memory or two:

But this "cry father cry mother" comment might be the best one yet:

In case any interpretation is needed, the commenter sees this as a taste of the village life and asks fellow Singaporeans not to "kpkb" (translated from "cry father cry mother") when it comes to situations like these.

"Blackout is chicken only"

While others took it as a chance reminder to be grateful that we are where we are:

And according to one commenter, Perth has blackouts as often as once every two weeks:

Singapore's efficiency

And speaking of which, some thanked the relevant authorities' efficiency when it comes to restoring the power:

Plus this commenter who made a very good point about blackouts at work vs. blackouts at home:

Well, this person didn't exactly give thanks, but was reasonably chill about the entire thing:

In any case, the blackout proved to be a good exercise in unity, even in the wee hours of the morning:

Bet some of you might even be able to relate this guy:
