Beer Ramen is now a thing in S'pore

It doesn't actually have beer.

Previously available in Canada, beer ramen has made its way to our shores.

More specifically, it's found in En Sushi at Prinsep Street.

The dish comprises of ramen, savoury broth, and egg white foam that gives it the impression of a beer -- hence its name.

For S$22.90, you get the beer ramen with three deep fried sides: Tori karaage (fried chicken), kaisen tofu and tempura kakiage (mix of deep-fried items, usually vegetables).

The noodles are dipped in ice water before being mixed with the broth and topped with egg foam.

This means the item is actually served cold, so those who are hankering for a bowl of hot ramen probably shouldn't be ordering it.

Here's how it looks next to a glass of real beer:

The restaurant also sells your standard Japanese fare, from makis to chirashi dons.

Prices are relatively affordable at S$15 to S$20 for a good number of the mains, although some premium items exceed that range.
