Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 road outside Presbyterian High fit for skiing during Wednesday flash flood

Parts of Ang Mo Kio flooded like no one's business on Wednesday evening, Sept. 19, 2018.

Photos and videos shared on social media and traded openly on messaging apps showed vehicles making their way on the flooded roads along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.

9cm of rainfall

According to Channel News Asia, close to 9cm of rainfall was recorded in the area between 5pm and 6pm, based on the Meteorological Service's data.

This is more than the rainfall recorded during the Bukit Timah flash floods on June 29.

Flash flood warning

The flash flood warning lasted about eight minutes.

National water agency PUB tweeted a flash flood alert in the Ang Mo Kio area at 5.47pm, only to announce that the flash flood had subsided in another tweet at 5.55pm.

SBS Transit tweeted that six bus services had to skip the bus stop opposite Yio Chu Kang MRT station due to the flash flood.
