That escalated really quickly.

You know when you apply for a job, and it isn't exactly what you thought it would be?

Well, Facebook user Benedict had possibly the worst version of that experience.

Part-time job

He had initially applied for a part-time job as a Zalora driver.

Something that he disclosed in his original message to his potential employer.

The project leader got in touch with him soon after, but perhaps not for the type of driver job he had in mind.

S$500 salary, with another S$500 bonus for hard work.

Pay increase

The comments were understandably poking fun at the absurdity of mixing up someone looking for a Zalora job, to smuggling cigarette across the border.

But one commenter actually understood exactly what Ben was going through, because he had been offered the same deal as well.

By the same number, no less.

In fact, he was offered S$50 higher than Ben.

And if you look at past offers from these type of dodgy driver deals, the salary actually went up from S$450 from a year ago.

Interesting.
